But, often times on the weekend, I like to make something different. Enter: gluten free waffles made with almond flour. If you need a substitute, you can try using arrowroot or cornstarch (though cornstarch isn&#8217;t Paleo)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eggs &#8211;<\/strong> Can probably sub flax eggs (3 tbsp flaxseed meal + 7 tbsp water), though I haven&#8217;t tested it myself. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/paleogrubs.com\/is-flaxseed-paleo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paleo Grubs<\/a>, if you&#8217;re following a strict paleo diet, you may want to omit flaxseeds, but they do have <em>plenty<\/em> of health benefits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Coconut oil &#8211;<\/strong> Coconut oil tends to be my oil of choice in any kind of &#8220;sweets&#8221; recipe; but, you could sub avocado oil if you prefer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Almond milk &#8211;<\/strong> or sub light coconut milk <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-method\">Method<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1: Melt coconut oil. <\/strong>The first step is to melt the coconut oil and then let it come to room temperature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2: Whisk wet ingredients.<\/strong> Next, whisk the eggs, almond milk and maple syrup together.
