If you end up with less than 1 cup of sweet potato, add a little pumpkin puree to the mix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cocoa powder:<\/strong> High-quality cocoa powder, or unsweetened 100% cacao. Since these brownies are only lightly sweetened, I highly recommend using high-quality cocoa powder. I used Whole Foods 365 brand and thought it was good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Almond butter:<\/strong> Go for the most inexpensive creamy almond butter, like Kirkland brand from Costco, or Trader Joe&rsquo;s almond butter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maple syrup:<\/strong> I know it&rsquo;s more expensive, but real maple syrup is going to make these taste even better (by &ldquo;real&rdquo; maple syrup, I mean syrup with no additives).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chopped chocolate:<\/strong> This is optional, but I HIGHLY recommend adding it, as it makes these taste more like traditional brownies. Opt for your favorite chocolate bar or chocolate chips, but if you want to keep these Paleo and\/or vegan, choose dairy free chocolate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>See the recipe card below for full ingredient list and quantities.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-make-sweet-potato-brownies\">How to Make Sweet Potato Brownies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1: Cook the sweet potatoes<\/strong>. Then, scoop out the flesh and discarding the skins.
