You can also use boneless, skinless chicken thighs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Soy sauce<\/strong> &ndash; It&rsquo;s the base of the homemade teriyaki sauce. I usually go for low-sodium soy sauce, but regular soy sauce works, too.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Garlic<\/strong> &ndash; I saut&eacute;ed minced garlic cloves in the pan before combining them with the teriyaki sauce. This really adds a nice savory flavor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ginger<\/strong> &ndash; Try to use fresh ginger if you can. It&rsquo;ll add a punchier flavor that really wakes up the sauce. If you only have ground ginger, use 1\/4 teaspoon instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cornstarch <\/strong>&ndash; This thickening agent makes the sauce thick and glossy. For extra tang, pour in a little more rice vinegar.
