Otherwise, just remove the skin before dicing, which is what I did.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Soy sauce<\/strong> &#8211; This is going to provide a delicious umami flavor, but you can substitute tamari or coconut aminos if you prefer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maple syrup<\/strong> &#8211; Or substitute honey. The flavor will be slightly different, but still quite good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rice vinegar<\/strong> &#8211; No substitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sesame oil<\/strong> &#8211; I prefer toasted sesame oil because it&#8217;s more flavorful.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-instructions\">Instructions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1: Dice the salmon. <\/strong>If you haven&#8217;t already, remove the skin from the salmon, Then, cut the salmon into 1&#8243; cubes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2: Add the marinade.<\/strong> Whisk the soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, and sesame oil together, then add the salmon and toss so the salmon is coated.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1800\" data-pin-description=\"These Air Fryer Salmon Bites are soaked in a simple soy sauce marinade, then cooked in the air fryer in under 8 minutes. Instead, the salmon is ready to go when you need it!\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>If using frozen salmon,<\/strong> be sure to thaw it ahead of time according to the package instructions. I like to remove the salmon from its packaging, transfer it to a plastic bag and let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Or, create your own rice bowl using whatever you have in your fridge!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Create a salad\u2014something like my <a href=\"https:\/\/thealmondeater.com\/mandarin-orange-salad\/\">mandarin orange salad<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/thealmondeater.com\/asian-chopped-salad\/\">Asian chopped salad<\/a>\u2014and then top it with the salmon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Serve it on its own alongside some roasted veggies and diced avocado.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Make it paleo:<\/strong> Use cauliflower rice as a base and coconut aminos instead of soy sauce<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Make it Whole30: <\/strong>Same as above, plus omit the maple syrup from the marinade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-storage\">Storage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Refrigerator<\/strong>: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reheating<\/strong>: Reheat salmon leftovers in the air fryer for a few minutes until warmed through.
