Cajun Steak Bites might just be the easiest way to prepare steak. Coated in a simple cajun rub, then pan-seared and tossed in a garlic butter sauce, they’re incredibly tasty and filling.

When you don’t know what to make for dinner, make these cajun steak bites!

Cajun seasoning is one of my favorites because I find it to be so versatile. I love using it on chicken, salmon, and even pasta, so I figured, why not use it on steak?!

Steak bites are great for many reasons, but besides having so much flavor, I personally love that they’re ready from start to finish in under 15 minutes. Huge win in my book!

Plus, they can be eaten for lunch, dinner or even a protein-filled snack depending on your mood.

Recipe features

  • Made using only a few ingredients and ready in less than 15 minutes.
  • Cooked completely on the stove, so there’s no need to turn on the oven.
  • Naturally gluten free, and can easily be made dairy-free/paleo as well.

Ingredients

Steak – Top sirloin, New York strip steak or ribeye work best.

Dry rub – A mixture of cajun seasoning, smoked paprika and salt creates the perfect spice blend.

Garlic cloves – Don’t substitute for garlic powder. I like to buy pre-peeled garlic so it’s easier and quicker to use.

Butter – Highly suggest using butter, but if you want to keep these dairy-free, simply use olive oil instead.

Instructions

Step 1: Season the steak. Slice the steak into 1″ pieces, then place them into a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. In a small bowl, stir the cajun seasoning, smoked paprika and salt together, then sprinkle the mixture over the steak and use a spoon or your hands to toss until the steak is coated in the dry rub.

Step 2: Pan-sear steak bites. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and cook for 3-4 minutes.

Step 3: Add the garlic butter. Last, add the butter and garlic to the pan and sauté for 1 minute, then remove from the heat. Serve the bites with the garlic butter sauce drizzled on top, garnish with fresh parsley (optional) and enjoy!

Tips and tricks

Tip

Size: Try to slice the steak the same size so that it cooks evenly. I find 1-inch bites are the perfect bite size. If you own a cast iron skillet, I recommend using that over nonstick because I think it browns the steak better.

Storage

Refrigerator – Store leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
