I love being that person who brings healthy dishes to a party. This yogurt fruit salad is on the healthier side since it’s made with both fresh fruit and yogurt, but it’s incredibly tasty and I think people will appreciate having a healthy option at the table. …or at least that’s what I tell myself.

Adding yogurt to recipes automatically makes them lighter, and often times more delicious, like in these overnight oats, banana yogurt pancakes, and even in this healthy caesar dressing. It adds flavor and protein to an otherwise basic fruit salad.

Recipe features

  • A fresh fruit salad that’s coated in a simple, creamy yogurt dressing.
  • Can easily be customized based on what you have in your refrigerator.
  • Can be served as a simple side dish or healthy dessert recipe!

Ingredients

Berries – A combination of ALL the berries — strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries — helps make this salad sweet and perfect for summer.

Grapes – Red or green grapes, whatever you prefer.

Pomegranate – Buy packaged pomegranate seeds to save time and avoid the mess of cutting a whole pomegranate.

Banana – The riper the banana, the sweeter it tastes, so opt for a ripe banana if you can.

Greek yogurt – Plain yogurt works best, and I opted to use Greek yogurt because it tends to be thicker in texture which I like. Any kind of plain yogurt works!

Honey – A little bit goes a long way! Start with one tablespoon and increase to taste.

Add-ins – I opted to use chopped walnuts and chia seeds for added texture. Other good options would be pecans, almonds, coconut flakes, and/or hemp seeds.

Variations + FAQs

Fruit: Try it with apples, oranges, fresh pineapple chunks, kiwi, mango — the possibilities are endless!

Yogurt: Make it sweeter by using vanilla yogurt — Greek or your favorite dairy-free kind.

Sweetener: I find that honey pairs best with yogurt, but other options are maple syrup or agave.

Can this be made ahead of time?

I wouldn’t make this salad too far in advance; otherwise, some of the fruit can become mushy. Making it the morning of is what I typically do.

Storage

Refrigerator: Store leftover fruit salad in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.

I cant have nuts.or whole grains..so granola is put too… What would be your best suggestions for something to add the “crunch”?
