a fork picking up an air fryer salmon bite from a veggie and rice bowl.

There’s no denying that salmon is an excellent source of protein, healthy fats and omega-3’s, and these air fryer salmon bites are my new favorite way to cook it!

Typically, my honey soy salmon is my go-to recipe when I want a quick dinner recipe. But, these salmon bites are so fun, and the air fryer makes them slightly crispy on the outside but tender and flakey inside.

Recipe features

  • A quick weeknight recipe that’s ready from start to finish in 15 minutes.
  • Salmon cubes cook nicely in the air fryer, and pair well with your favorite side dish
  • The marinade is only 4 ingredients, but still so flavorful.

Ingredients

Salmon – Boneless, skinless if you can find it. Otherwise, just remove the skin before dicing, which is what I did.

Soy sauce – This is going to provide a delicious umami flavor, but you can substitute tamari or coconut aminos if you prefer.

Maple syrup – Or substitute honey. The flavor will be slightly different, but still quite good.

Rice vinegar – No substitution.

Sesame oil – I prefer toasted sesame oil because it’s more flavorful.

Instructions

Step 1: Dice the salmon. If you haven’t already, remove the skin from the salmon, Then, cut the salmon into 1″ cubes.

Step 2: Add the marinade. Whisk the soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, and sesame oil together, then add the salmon and toss so the salmon is coated.

Step 3: Air fry. Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick spray, then add the salmon bites in a single layer, ensuring they’re not overlapping. Air fry at 400° F for 5-7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. Drizzle with extra soy sauce (optional) and enjoy!

Tips

  • Buy fresh vs. frozen salmon: Ok you don’t have to do this, but it makes it so that you can skip the step of thawing the frozen salmon ahead of time. Instead, the salmon is ready to go when you need it!
  • If using frozen salmon, be sure to thaw it ahead of time according to the package instructions. I like to remove the salmon from its packaging, transfer it to a plastic bag and let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Or, place it in a bowl of cool water and let it thaw for 30 minutes.

Tip

Soy sauce is salty enough that you shouldn’t need to add any additional salt in the marinade. However, always do a quick taste test of the marinade ahead of time and add salt to taste if you’d like.

    Serving suggestions

On a bowl, as pictured above, with rice, kale, cucumber, and green onion. Or, create your own rice bowl using whatever you have in your fridge!

Create a salad—something like my mandarin orange salad or Asian chopped salad—and then top it with the salmon.

Serve it on its own alongside some roasted veggies and diced avocado.

Make it paleo: Use cauliflower rice as a base and coconut aminos instead of soy sauce

Make it Whole30: Same as above, plus omit the maple syrup from the marinade.

    Storage

Refrigerator: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Reheating: Reheat salmon leftovers in the air fryer for a few minutes until warmed through. Or, reheat in the microwave.

Learn how to make homemade french fries in the air fryer! Super crispy and golden brown on the outside, pillowy soft on the inside, and made from only 3 ingredients. An easy snack the whole family can enjoy!

a bowl of air fryer french fries.

Get a load of these air fryer french fries. They’re golden, fluffy, and pack a mean crunch. Who could have thought it would be so easy to transform Russet potatoes into something so crave-worthy?

If you’ve tried my air fryer potato wedges before, then you know that crispy potatoes and the air fryer go hand in hand. The magic of the air fryer comes down to the way it circulates heat. During cooking, all of that heat blows around every inch of the potatoes, helping them turn golden and crunchy on the outside and stay soft on the inside.

This recipe walks you through cooking homemade french fries in the air fryer and gives you a simple 20-minute trick to making the crispiest fries ever. In the end, you’re left with perfect fries that rival any store-bought frozen version.

    Recipe features

    • One try and you’ll never settle for blah frozen french fries again!
    • 3 simple ingredients are transformed into fluffy on the inside, golden and crispy on the outside french fries.
    • Learn how one simple secret (soaking the sliced potatoes in cold water) yields the crispiest fries ever.
    • The air fryer speeds up the cooking time to give you a big batch of tasty french fries to dip in zhoug sauce in about 1 hour.
slicing russet potatoes into french fry sticks.

    Ingredients

Russet potatoes – The best homemade french fries need the best potatoes, and that’s where Russets come in. They’re high in starch and low in moisture, which helps them become soft and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. If you can’t find Russet potatoes, use Yukon Gold potatoes instead (their skin is waxy but still work well as a substitute).

Olive oil – Unlike classic deep-fried french fries, these air fryer fries only require 1 tablespoon of olive oil (or another high-heat oil, like avocado oil) to help them crisp up and turn golden brown on the outside. No messy deep fryer oil needed!

Salt – Add a pinch of black pepper, too, if you want. I salted the fries before they went in the air fryer, but you could add an extra pinch when they’re done if you like your fries extra salty.

    Instructions

Step 1: Slice. Slice the potatoes in half lengthwise, then slice each half into thin strips that resemble fries.

Step 2: Soak. Soak the sliced fries in a large bowl with cold water for 20 minutes to remove the excess starch. After, drain the water and pat the potatoes dry thoroughly with paper towels.

Step 3: Season. Toss the dried potatoes with the olive oil and salt until well-seasoned.

Step 4: Air fry. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray before placing HALF of the french fries in the basket. Air fry until crispy, then repeat with the remaining fries.

Step 5: Serve. Transfer the air fryer fries to a serving platter, serve with your favorite dipping sauce on the side, and enjoy!

cooked french fries in an air fryer basket.

    Tips

    • No need to peel the potatoes. The skin adds extra crunchiness and an appetizing rustic charm!
    • Don’t slice the fries thinner than 1/4-inch matchsticks, or else they could burn in the air fryer. A mandoline will give you evenly sized sticks with the perfect thickness every time.
    • Don’t forget the seasonings! After soaking and drying the fries, you can toss them in 2 to 3 teaspoons of dry ranch seasoning, taco seasoning, Italian seasoning, or another seasoning blend you like for extra flavor.
    • Keep the cooked fries warm by placing them on a baking sheet in a preheated 200ºF oven while the second batch is air frying.

    Tip

I know it’s an extra step, but trust me—soaking the sliced fries in ice-cold water for 20 minutes is the secret to making the best homemade french fries EVER. This process removes excess starch and helps the potatoes crisp up. A 20-minute soak will do the trick, or you can soak them in the fridge overnight.

What should I serve with the fries?

You can’t go wrong with a generous dose of homemade fries paired with a big, juicy grilled bison burger or a couple of mouthwatering BBQ chicken sliders. What’s most important, though, is the dipping sauce.

Sure, you could keep it simple with a side of ketchup or spicy mayo, OR you could go all out with a side of zhoug sauce, chipotle aioli, or ranch dressing.

How long does it take to air fry french fries?

Two batches of french fries will take approximately 15 minutes each in a 380°F air fryer. Just keep in mind that the cooking time may vary depending on the size and shape of your fries and the functionality of your air fryer.

      Storage

Refrigerator: If you’re lucky enough to have leftovers, store them in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Freezer: You can also freeze the leftover french fries for up to 3 months.

Reheating: Add the chilled or frozen fries to the air fryer basket and reheat at 380ºF for 5 to 10 minutes or until they’re hot and crispy again.

      Ingredients

      • 2 large russet potatoes
      • 1 tbsp olive oil
      • ½ tsp salt

      Instructions

      • Slice potatoes in half lengthways, then slice into thin strips that resemble fries. NOTE: be careful not to slice them too thin or they will burn.
      • Place the potato slices in a large bowl, then cover with water and allow them to soak for 20 minutes, which helps remove excess starch and helps them crisp up better. Once the 20 minutes is up, drain the potatoes and transfer them to a clean towel and pat them dry as best you can.
      • Wipe the bowl until it’s dry, then place the potatoes back in and add the olive oil and salt; toss to combine.
      • Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (this should take about 3 minutes), then spray the basket with nonstick spray. Place HALF of the potatoes in a single layer or as close to it as you can get. Air fry for 15 minutes, tossing halfway through. Repeat this same process with the remaining potato slices.
      • Transfer the fries to a serving plate or bowl, serve with your favorite condiment(s) and enjoy!

This Air Fryer Steak recipe will quickly become your favorite way to cook steak! Simply season it, then place it in your air fryer for a perfect steak that’s cooked to your liking.

air fryer steak sliced on a plate with green beans and mashed potatoes

Air fryer steak is an easy way to get steak on the table, even during the work week!

Hands-off cooking is ideal when you’re busy or trying to multi-task in the kitchen, and that’s exactly why I adore my air fryer. That, and because I don’t have to turn on the oven. My air fryer scallops and air fryer chicken thighs are two of my go-to’s for that very reason.

      Recipe features

      • The recipe itself only requires 3 ingredients.
      • Easily tailor the recipe based on how you like your steak to be cooked.
      • The steak is delicious on its own and can easily be paired with many different side dishes.
      • Crispy on the outside but perfectly juice inside, this may just be the fastest way to get steak on the table.

      Ingredients

Striploin steak – I used two striploin steaks about 1″ thick each. If you don’t want to use striploin, sirloin steak or ribeye steak are other great options, just make sure they’re about the same thickness.

Garlic powder – Garlic powder, along with salt and black pepper, are what give the steak its flavor. Sometimes, simple is best!

Olive oil – Helps the steak to brown in the air fryer, and makes it so you don’t have to spray your air fryer basket with nonstick spray.

      Instructions

Step 1: Bring to room temperature. Remove the steaks from the fridge, place them on a plate and allow them to come to room temperature (or close to it) for 20-30 minutes before using. This allows the steak to cook more evenly.

Step 2: Season the steak. Dry the steaks with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Sprinkle the steaks with garlic powder, salt and pepper on both sides. Brush the olive oil all over the steaks.

two raw steaks on a plate

Step 3: Air fry. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Place the steaks inside the basket and air fry at 400°F for 12 minutes, flipping halfway through. Allow the steak to sit on a cutting board for a few minutes before slicing. Enjoy! NOTE: see recipe card below for various cook times based on how you might like your steak

2 images: the left image shows two raw steaks added to an air fryer and the right image shows the steaks cooked in an air fryer

      Tips and FAQs

      • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer. If you’re cooking more than 2 steaks, make sure to cook them in batches.
      • Always use a meat thermometer to confirm the internal temperature of steak.

      Tip

Be sure to remove them about 5°F before your ideal cook time, since the steaks will continue cooking as they rest.

How long should do steaks take to air fry?

Cook times vary depending on size of steak, and the steak will continue cooking for a few minutes once it rests. Here are the approximate cook times for 1″ thick steaks:

Rare: 125°F, and cook time is 8 minutes

Medium-rare: 135°F, and cook time is 10 minutes

Medium: 145°F, and cook time is 12 minutes

Medium-well: 155°F, and cook time is 12-13 minutes

Well done: 160°F+, and cook time is 14 minutes

      What pairs well with steak?

Serve steak alongside mashed potatoes, braised greens, sautéed asparagus, or simply sprinkle it with some chopped fresh parsley.

Or, prep the steak and use it on top of salad, on tacos or on a sandwich!

      Storage

Refrigerator: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Freezer: Wait for steak to cool, then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and place into a freezer-safe bag. Freeze for up to 3 months.

Reheating: To reheat, thaw steak in the refrigerator overnight. Reheat in the oven at 300°F until warm. If the steak has already been sliced, reheat in the microwave.
